Brig BS Gill
(EX PRESIDENT SSB, Allahabad)
An officer with vast and varied experience. Brig Gill has commanded an artillery brigade and the army aviation school at Nasik. He has 21 years flying experience and has served as both as an instructor and flying examiner at the army aviation school. Brig Gill has been an assessor in the Service Selection Board at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and has the valuable experience of being the President of Service Selection Board at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
He is a guest faculty at the Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), an Indian defence laboratory of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) located at New Delhi. Furthermore, he is a graded assessor for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
Brig Gill is also a diploma holder in Defence Management and Human Resource Development, University of Pune.
Brig (Dr) Sunil Bodhe
(EX PRESIDENT SSB, Allahabad)
Brig (Dr) S Bodhe is an alumnus of Sainik School, Satara and the National Defence Academy (NDA). Having extensively served in various states and across multiple volatile frontiers of the country has made him a powerful and versatile leader. He has had the honour and privilege of playing an active and crucial part in key military operations including Operation Vijay in 1999.
Brig Bodhe has a plethora of military training and academic achievements under his belt. He did post-graduation in defence studies from the prestigious Defence Service Staff College, Wellington. He has served as a commando instructor to the invincible National Security Guard (NSG) of India.
He is a profound speaker on matters of national security and is also an adroit influencer. His stint as an assessor and president of the Service Selection Board (SSB) has honed his this very innate ability. Brig Bodhe hails from a small town of Pandharpur in Maharashtra and currently resides in Pune with his family.
Col Subhash Pol
(Retd)
He is an alumnus of the Sainik School Balachadi, Jamnagar and joined NDA in 1978. He got commissioned in 17th Battalion of the Madras Regiment (Cochin) from the Indian Military Academy in 1981. He has served the Armed Forces for 38 years in different parts of the country and has led many expeditions during his service. He has taken part in operation Blue Star in Punjab and Operation Vijay in Kargil. He has served in counter insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Nagaland.
A committed social workers, he is a live wire and an adventure enthusiast. He is an excellent cross-country runner and was NDA blue in the event. His passion for serving the masses with a sense of purpose drives his agenda on daily basis.
He has a diploma in Labour Law from the University of Mumbai. He hails from village Mardi, Satara (Maharashtra) & currently lives in Pune with is family.
Col Rohit Tewari
(Retd- MA Psychology)
Col Tewari has the unique experience of having served not only in the fighting arm of the Indian Army but also in intelligence wing and quality assurance wing of the Indian Army.
An alumnus of NDA, he has a plethora of degrees to his credit apart from the professional military training. He is TSOC qualified, from DIAT, Pune which is equivalent to M. Tech in defence technology. Furthermore, hehas a Masters in Business Administration from the prestigious Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University and a diploma in personnel management from SIMS, Pune and an Master’s in Arts (Socio-Psychology) from Meerut University. Lastly, he has done quality assurance training from DIQA, Bangalore and is also a diploma holder from IIFT, New Delhi.
Col Vivek Nair
Retd (Interviewing Officer)
Col Vivek Nair An outstanding officer from the Armoured Corps, with 35 years’ service in the Indian Army, Col Nair’s multifaceted expertise reflect clearly in his performance as the COO at VDA. His journey reflects a wealth of experience across various critical and sensitive appointments spanning the realms of Management, HR, Administration, Training and Discipline & Vigilance. His role as Deputy President and Interviewing Officer of four different Services Selection Boards give him the insight into identifying and nurturing exceptional talent for developing future leadership. His academic qualifications include a B. Com (Honours) from Delhi University, MSc (Military Studies) from Madras University, and an MBA (HR). His comprehensive education and his experience as an Interviewing Officer aligns seamlessly with the demands of his role as the COO at VDA and as a mentor for students aspiring to join the National Defence Academy (NDA).
Col Vinay Kumar Madan

Col Vinay K Madan with over 33 years of dedicated service in the Indian Army, Colonel Madan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our institution. His journey in education and leadership began at an elite Military School in Ajmer, followed by training at the National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla, where he also served as an instructor, shaping future armed forces leaders. Colonel Madan has participated in various active operations, including during the Kargil conflict and in establishing Sadbhavana schools in Jammu and Kashmir. His experience extends to school administration while commanding the Assam Rifles in Assam and he has contributed to the initial stages of computerization in the field Army. An accomplished athlete with numerous NDA athletic achievements, Colonel Madan’s commitment to mentorship and leadership makes him an invaluable guide for the students of Shivneri VDA Campus.
